ABOUT THE EVENT
Arcade Comedy Theater is a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) comedy space at 943 Liberty Avenue, right in the heart of Pittsburgh's Cultural District. Originally founded in 2013, Arcade moved to its current, custom-designed three‑story building in 2017—a vibrant hub featuring two theaters, a cozy lounge, classrooms, free arcade games, and full accessibility throughout
Arcade offers a dynamic mix of improv, stand‑up, sketch, and variety acts every weekend, frequently recognized by Pittsburgh Magazine as “Best Place to See Live Comedy”. They proudly keep entertainment affordable, embracing a mission of accessibility and experimentation—most events run $5–$20.
Arcade is more than a venue—it’s a creative incubator. Their Academy offers improv, sketch and stand-up classes, giving local performers a platform to grow and audiences a reason to return. Their strong community and collaborative philosophy fuels both comedy and neighborhood engagement.
ABOUT THE VENUE
Revitalizing Liberty, One Night at a Time.
Acoustic Thursday is part of the Downtown Neighbors Alliance’s Liberty Avenue Project, a community-driven initiative to revitalize Liberty Avenue through arts, culture, and nightlife. Our goal is to reintroduce downtown Pittsburgh as a lively, welcoming destination—not just a place people pass through, but a place they stay, explore, and return to.
By partnering with venues like Arcade, we're working to bring fresh energy to Liberty Ave—one live show, small business, and night out at a time. From local music to new retail to upcoming taprooms and salons, this is just the beginning of a more vibrant downtown.
