The Downtown Neighbors Alliance is working on revitalizing Liberty Avenue by improving street lighting and attracting a diverse mix of commercial activity. Example additions like tech companies, women’s clothing stores, and a new coffee shop illustrate the kind of vibrant, community-friendly businesses that could transform the area into a destination for locals and visitors alike.

Since 2013, the Resident Ambassadors have served as advocates for the residents in their building. Reflective of all residential buildings in The Golden Triangle, they are the representative between DNA and downtown residents.

As spring brings fresh beginnings, we’re launching a new way to welcome Downtown Pittsburgh’s newest residents! Our Welcome Kit program is designed to make moving downtown feel like home from day one. With exciting discounts, exclusive offers, and helpful local resources, these kits will introduce new neighbors to the best our city has to offer while strengthening our vibrant community.

With the cooperation of individuals, policy makers and employers, the Living Well Initiative will help Downtowners live longer, healthier lives and attract newcomers in the future with more nutritious food choices at restaurants and grocery stores, higher levels of community engagement and better infrastructure for people to walk and bike to work.

Our vision is to transform Downtown into a thriving, unique urban village with independent boutiques, cafes, and retail experiences that cannot be found in malls. This includes music venues, outdoor and diverse ethnic options, and a strong emphasis on minority-owned boutiques. A primary component of this plan is job creation and wealth-building within the minority communities.

Introducing a one-stop shop for information regarding community events happening in the Golden Triangle: the Concierge. By bringing together event information in one convenient place, we aim to enhance the downtown experience, encourage local participation and support our neighborhood's growth and development.

The Pittsburgh Downtown Dog Park opened officially in January 2017. Now, Downtown pups and their humans can use and enjoy a dog park in the Golden Triangle.

This program aims to enhance the representation of local businesses in the Downtown area, to help them connect and grow within the Golden Triangle and to advocate for employee needs and interests on both a local and corporate level.

Amidst this Summer’s intense heat wave, the perfect solution to cooling downtown’s high temperature may just lie above our heads. Green Roofs, an innovative approach to sustainable architecture, can drastically improve our quality of life and regulate temperatures.

Working with the PDP, DNA will program outdoor summer events in conjunction for the Cultural Trust in The Oasis, Katz Plaza and The Backyard. We will also program events in Mellon Square and work with The Pittsburgh Playhouse Theater on their indoor/outdoor program.
