About the Event

The Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) hosted its second Candlelight Crescendo with Cello Fury at the Pittsburgh Playhouse Theatre. The intimate black box venue was transformed with nearly a thousand candles, creating a magical atmosphere for this one-of-a-kind concert.

Titled Reimagining Rock, the trio performed rock classics like Eleanor Rigby, Renegade, and Bohemian Rhapsody, reimagined with their signature three-cellos. With whimsical, moody, and fantastical arrangements, Cello Fury delivered a truly unforgettable performance that left the sold-out audience of 120 in awe.

Attendees also enjoyed 20% off at participating restaurants: Yuzu Kitchen, Vallozzi’s, Revel, and Sushi I.

Stay tuned for the next Candlelight Crescendo and experience the magic for yourself!

Founded by Nicole Myers and Simon Cummings, Cello Fury fuses the soaring melodies of strings with the driving energy of rock. Featuring three cellists and a drummer, the band has released three albums of original music and captivated audiences of tens of thousands. Their performances range from NFL halftime shows to the Pittsburgh Pirates’ national anthem, as well as their beloved annual Cello Fury and Friends Holiday Show.

Beyond the stage, Cello Fury gives back through music education workshops and community outreach, inspiring young musicians each year through initiatives like the Cello Fury Rock Camp. Their artistry and passion have built bridges across genres and borders, making a lasting impact both in Pittsburgh and around the world.
