We Delivered Our First Welcome Kit!
On July 9th 2025, Mayor Ed Gainey, the Downtown Neighbors Alliance, and Huntington Bank welcomed Katie Rotz as a new resident of downtown Pittsburgh with a special DNA welcome basket. Sponsored by Huntington Bank, these baskets are part of a new initiative to help incoming residents feel at home by offering perks and gifts from local restaurants and businesses. Though a Pittsburgh native, Katie had never lived downtown before and was excited to explore the vibrant community within the Golden Triangle.
Katie, a ballet student-turned-teacher with a deep love for the arts, was especially thrilled to live in the heart of the Cultural District. The welcome basket introduces her to the many cultural and entertainment offerings downtown, from comedy nights at the Arcade Comedy Theatre to serene evenings at the Pittsburgh Opera. This first welcome basket presentation marked the beginning of an effort to connect more residents with the energy and opportunities of Pittsburgh’s city core.
