On July 9th, Mayor Ed Gainey, the Downtown Neighbors Alliance, and Huntington Bank welcomed our newest downtown resident, Katie Rotz, with a DNA welcome basket filled with an array of perks and gifts from Downtown restaurants and businesses.
Sponsored by Huntington Bank, these welcome baskets are designed to make incoming residents feel at home from day one. Some Pittsburgh natives, like Katie, have never lived in downtown Pittsburgh before, and are unaware of the vibrant community that exists inside the Golden Triangle. These welcome baskets serve as an introduction to all downtown has to offer, introducing new residents to their new favorite late-night restaurant or where to go on their next night out.

Presented to Katie by Mayor Ed Gainey, our first distributed welcome kit kickstarted the process of bringing greater Pittsburgh residents closer to the city core. As a ballet student-turned-teacher, Katie has always adored the arts, whether sheβs watching a dance recital or a play, and was thrilled to live inside the heart of the Cultural District. Our welcome basket gives Katie the opportunity to explore her new neighborhood, where she can catch a show at the Arcade Comedy Theatre for a night of explosive laughter, or spend a serene evening with the Pittsburgh Opera.
