Acoustic Tuesdays Musician Spotlight: Henry Bachorski and Scott Moore🎶
Written by Emma Schramm
Next week’s Acoustic Tuesdays talent is off the charts! On February 24, two artists will step onto the Acoustic Tuesdays stage for the first time. These Pittsburgh singer-songwriters have been creating music for as long as they could hold a guitar. Let’s dive deeper into our musicians, Henry Bachorski and Scott Moore.🎶
Henry Bachorski will perform first from 7:00–8:00 PM. He started playing guitar when he was around 9 years old, and learned from watching others play in real time. Bachorski is drawn to powerful storytelling and harmonies from artists like Dan Fogelberg, Jason Isbell, Gregory Alan Isakov, and the Eagles. He begins many of his songs by simply fiddling around with a guitar and finding an interesting chord progression, catching lyrics as they flow. For many years, Bachorski ran an open stage at the now-closed Eclipse Lounge in Lawrenceville. His favorite part of that experience was hearing the talent of the artists that came through and collaborating with fellow musicians. He is excited to feel this same sense of community at Acoustic Tuesdays, and is ready to surprise people with his performance.
Scott Moore (@scottmoores_music) will perform second from 8:00–9:00 PM. Musical artists like the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and especially Neil Young guide his work, attracted most to the melody of their songs. Moore has been writing songs for many years, but started taking his artistry more seriously around 7 years ago. Over the years, he’s learned to write for himself instead of to fit others’ expectations, and performing has only gotten more important for him as he gets older.
“The Pittsburgh music scene has a lot of talent and potential. I think it's hard for artists to make traction in this town, but hard work and persistence is eventually rewarded,” Moore explained.
DNA’s goal is that Acoustic Tuesdays is a platform for artists to showcase their hard work, especially in such an intimate setting on Liberty Ave. It’s part of DNA’s efforts to revitalize Liberty Avenue with arts, culture, and community.
Come out and support Henry Bachorski and Scott Moore at Liberty Magic (811 Liberty Ave) on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 7:00–9:00 PM. Admission is always free, thanks to our generous season sponsor Peoples Gas, but RSVP today to claim your seat.
