What to See at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts

The Benedum Center for the Performing Arts is a 2,800-seat theater that serves as the focal point for the Cultural District. It hosts Downtown Pittsburgh’s best performance groups, including Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and the Pittsburgh Opera. This winter, there are a handful of performances to look forward to!

Les Misérables, still the world’s most popular musical, takes the stage from November 25 to 30. Presented by Cameron Mackintosh, this production tells an epic tale of heartbreak, passion, and sacrifice in 19th century France. It’s already selling out, so don’t forget to buy tickets!

The Nutcracker is an unforgettable journey through the Land of Enchantment with subtle references to Pittsburgh icons, landmarks, and history. Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre delivers an excellent performance under the choreography of Terrence S. Orr from December 5 to 28.

A Very Yinzer Christmas returns for its fourth year on Monday, December 8. The festive extravaganza will feature more than 25 local music legends alongside the Yinzer House Band, and will benefit the nonprofit Band Together Pittsburgh.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis has left audiences stunned for 40 years in a row. On Tuesday, December 11, the 15 musicians will use 20 different instruments to create a unique and powerful sound, capturing the electric energy of the season.
