Acoustic Tuesdays: Recap and Looking Forward

Written by Amanda Buchman

On November 4, the Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) saw another big crowd at its weekly Acoustic Tuesdays event. Attendees were amazed with the stage presence of local artists Melina Bowser and Abby Morgan, two singer-songwriters with immense vocal talent and lyrical skills.

Melina Bowser, a 25-year old from Pittsburgh, PA, sang original songs and covers ranging from country pop to Southern rock. Adored by live audiences, her music is also available to stream on Spotify or Apple Music.

Abby Morgan possesses a unique sound inspired by indie and alternative rock as well as synth pop influence. Every song that she performed was an original, with lyrics and music composed by Morgan. Of the many things she impressed the crowd with, poetic lyrics captured the beautiful and complicated parts of her life. Not only was she great, but her songs had meaning.

Next week, Acoustic Tuesdays will feature Bailey Rose and Calico Dogs. At just fifteen years old, Rose is already proving herself as a talented singer-songwriter. Her contemporary writing paired with powerful vocals is a spectacle you don’t want to miss.

Calico Dogs fuses blues, alternative, indie, and psychedelia in their music. The band is composed of four local musicians and close friends who draw inspiration from their experiences to bring a fresh sound to the Pittsburgh music scene.

DNA can’t wait to see you for the next free Acoustic Tuesdays event on November 11 at Liberty Magic at 811 Liberty Ave. Don’t forget to register here—limited seats are available!
