Live Your Healthiest Life At Etage Athletic Club!

Written by Amanda Buchman

Health and wellness trends are always changing, making fitness seem more difficult than it has to be. That’s why residents of Downtown Pittsburgh flock to Etage Athletic Club at 422 Stanwix Street. There, men and women of all ages and levels of athletic ability are encouraged to simplify their fitness journeys and become their best selves.

The staff is warm and welcoming, maintaining a comfortable atmosphere for community members to work out in. Katie Jacob, the General Manager, emphasizes the importance of exercise for one’s own mental health and wellbeing.

“Sometimes in the fitness industry, or just in life, there’s a lot of stigma about how you have to look, and I don’t always think that’s the best way to approach it,” says Jacob. “All of our bodies are different, so for me, it’s more about trying to get people to understand that it’s about being confident in who you are versus how you have to look.”

At Etage, there is more than enough equipment for everyone. Their state of the art equipment is spread out on three separate floors totaling thirty-five thousand square feet. Each floor caters to a different type of workout, so it’s never too crowded—and you’ll never have to wait for a treadmill.

If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, you can schedule a free consultation with a trainer; or, try out one of their fitness classes. The club offers around 10-15 classes per month, ranging from high-intensity interval training (HIIT) to restorative yoga.

The rooftop basketball court is open seasonally to pop-up classes in addition to pickleball matches. Since the club is open from 5 AM-9 PM on weekdays (7 AM-6 PM on weekends), nighttime classes get to witness the sunset against the surrounding buildings during the summer months.

But according to Jacob, the most beautiful thing about Etage is what you see on the inside. The community is friendly, respectful, and accepting of new members. “Even after 4 years, I’m still excited to get up and go to work each day,” she says. “It’s not always going to be simple and easy, but there’s always something I enjoyed at the end of the day.”

Fitness should be about bettering yourself, whatever that looks like for you. Start your free trial or become a member of Etage and start your journey today!
