Written by Amanda Buchman
Pittsburgh’s CLO is thrilled to have Tony award-winner Denis O'Hare fulfill the iconic role of Ebenezer Scrooge in its 34th annual production of A Musical Christmas Carol. The highly awaited performance will take place at the Byham Theater from December 13 to 23.
O’Hare has starred in a variety of plays, musicals, and television shows. In 2003, he won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance as Mason Marzac in Take Me Out. He has continued to demonstrate immense talent in his roles since.
With O’Hare at the helm, A Musical Christmas Carol is sure to be better than ever this year. "Pittsburgh CLO's A MUSICAL CHRISTMAS CAROL is one of the City’s favorite holiday traditions," says Mark Fleischer, Pittsburgh CLO Executive Producer, "and casting the perfect actor to play temperamental Scrooge is a key element of what makes the show so special year after year.”
Fleischer continues, “I am so pleased that Denis is joining us in Pittsburgh to be a part of this special production and to entertain local audiences as the miserly Mr. Scrooge who finds love, hope and redemption in the end."
By tying in your favorite yuletide melodies with childhood wonder, this production of the Charles Dickens classic is a wonderful way for the whole family to celebrate the season. To truly immerse yourself in the spirit of the season, get tickets here!
