People’s Gas Holiday Market is Moving to the Cultural District!

Written by Arlo Grey MacFarland

This year, Pittsburgh’s iconic People’s Gas Holiday Market will take place in the Cultural District. Typically held in Market Square, which is currently under renovation for 2026, the Market will be spread out across three different locations downtown: Katz Plaza at 685 Penn Ave., the Trust Oasis at 139 Seventh St., and the parking lot across from the Benedum Center at 237 Seventh St.

According to the People’s Gas website, the market is, “Inspired by the original German Christkindlmarkts (or ‘Christmas Market’), the People’s Gas Holiday Market™ brings a cherished European tradition to Pittsburgh with an international flair, a touch of local charm, and a pinch of sugar, spice, and everything nice. As you weave through the Alpine-style wooden chalets, brimming with high-quality gifts, you'll experience a one-of-a-kind holiday shopping experience.”

The annual holiday market features food and craft vendors highlighting a variety of cultures and holiday traditions. Some of the current vendors include: Euro Haus, Bali Made, Kenyan Craft Connection, and Himala Home.

Alongside the shops in the Cultural District, over in half-completed Market Square, Space Bar will present a new installation called “Yinzer Wonderland.” Yinzer Wonderland will transform Space Bar, located at 22 Market Square, boasting a dazzling golden Christmas tree and a giant inflatable snow globe. The bar will have a special holiday cocktail menu.

The market’s opening will coincide with the upcoming 64th annual Light Up Night downtown, beginning just the day before.  Running from Friday, November 21, through Monday, December 24, 2025, you won’t want to miss this Pittsburgh tradition.  For more information on vendors and hours, visit downtownpittsburghholidays.com
