Roads to Recovery: Pittsburgh Recovery Walk
Written by Madeline Milchman
To celebrate the recovery of addicts, Pittsburghers are walking through Downtown and the Strip District. Starting at 1201 Waterfront Dr., the walk will continue down Penn Avenue to 7th Street, turn right on Fort Duquesne Blvd. to 9th Street, and back on Penn Avenue to 11th and Waterfront.
Beyond the walk, the event will have an awards ceremony, food trucks, kids' activities, music, and a resource fair.
The event is taking place on September 13th from 9am-1pm. It is completely free, and everyone is invited, especially those whose lives have been impacted by addiction or recovery. While registration is not required, it is encouraged.
This event celebrates the road to recovery and those brave enough to take it. It also aims to decrease stigma around addiction and recovery and showcase resources for support.
Pittsburgh Recovery Walk is funded completely by donations and sponsorships. If you would like to contribute, you can donate here.
