Roll Your Way into Rock ‘n’ Joe!

Written by Madeline Milchman

Rock ‘n’ Joe brings together two unexpected things–coffee and rock ‘n’ roll. When its first location opened in 1993, the shop replicated a backstage lounge. Rock music played on the speaker, worn leather couches seated customers, and records lined the walls.

Now, the Pittsburgh location has a more traditional appearance, but the comfort and style are still there. The two-story building is filled with tables and chairs, perfect for studying, working, or chatting with friends. The upstairs level has extra warmth from the electric fireplace that comforts the room. Outside the shop are more seating options, perfect for basking in the sun and people watching.

One thing that is unchanging between Rock ‘n’ Joe's multiple locations is the coffee. With fresh, quality beans every cup is brewed to perfection by expert baristas. From fancy flavors like strawberry shortcake and caramel overload, to classic black coffees and cappuccinos, Rock ‘n’ Joe has it all.

Beyond the coffee, the shop sells pastries, sandwiches, tea, smoothies, refreshers, and more. See the full menu here.

Rock ‘n’ Joes is located at 524 Penn Avenue and is open Monday through Friday 7am-6pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm.
