We started with the Lobster Bisque, their signature soup and one of the best versions you’ll find anywhere. Rich, velvety, and aromatic, it’s made with North Atlantic lobster and finished tableside with a splash of sherry — that little flourish that makes you feel fancy before you’ve even had your entrée.
Next up was a trio of appetizers that could easily stand as a meal on their own. The Shrimp Cocktail featured five jumbo shrimp chilled to perfection, paired with a zesty, housemade cocktail sauce that had just the right kick. The Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers stole the show though — tender, golden, and tossed with just enough spice to wake up your palate.

For mains, we split between two showstoppers. The Filet Mignon, perfectly cooked and topped with tallow butter and fleur de sel, was melt-in-your-mouth tender — a true steakhouse classic done right. The Sushi-Grade Sesame Seared Tuna was a standout. Lightly seared for that perfect crust, it came with gingered rice, white soy, and sambal vinaigrette — the sauce struck just the right balance of fresh and sweet, making every bite of rice even more delicious.

But the dish that had the entire table talking? The Honey-Crusted Double Cut Lamb Rib Chops. let’s just say — this one stole the spotlight. Crispy on the outside yet tender and juicy inside, the lamb captured the pure, natural flavor of the meat while the honey and mint gremolata added a beautiful harmony of sweetness and herbs.
Every plate was a reminder of why The Capital Grille remains a Pittsburgh favorite — polished service, timeless dishes, and the kind of meal that lingers in your mind long after the table’s been cleared.
