Candlelight Crescendo: Warm on a Summer Night

Calling all music lovers: Pittsburgh’s DNA is putting on a brand new event just for you! Candlelight Crescendo starts at 8:00 PM on Friday, June 20th in the Highmark Theater at Pittsburgh Playhouse. Listen to some of your favorite songs of the summer, whether old or new, in a brand new way. The sound of the strings are sure to blow you away, but keep the candles lit as you're transported to a night of elegance and goosebumps.
City Six Strings boasts a large repertoire of a mix of traditional and contemporary compositions you just can’t miss! Their Summer Soundtrack compilation is one you just can’t miss, but they’ve luckily taken a stop out of their booked schedule to play for Pittsburgh for just one night! With impressive degrees spanning from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to Carnegie Mellon University right in our backyard, as well as experience playing all around the globe, this group of musicians just keeps on growing.
I’m almost positive you’ll leave wanting more of what City Six Strings has to offer, and thankfully, they’ve got you covered: their YouTube Channel stays up to date with the most recent trends, and holds a packed collection of their best hits and classics.

If you’re looking to put a new spin on date night, this event has got you covered. With general admission tickets set at $45, this event makes any special night more romantic under the warm glow of candlelight. You’re guaranteed to impress anyone, new or old, when you add this to your itinerary. Bonus points if they’re a lover of music– this event will give them something to talk about months after they’ve experienced it.
Maybe self-care is more your thing on a Friday night– this offers the most relaxing yet exciting way to start winding down as you enter the weekend. Maybe this past week on campus was stressful– most of us know this all too well. Thankfully, if you’re a student, you can get your hands on a ticket for only $25 with a valid student ID. The same price is true for senior tickets, as well. If you’re looking to bring a larger group– perhaps a family outing– tickets for groups over ten people are 20% off the general admission price. This is also true for our members when presenting your member code.
