Let’s Hear from You: Downtown Dialogues
Written by Elisabeth Kay
Starting next month, residents of Downtown Pittsburgh will be given a new opportunity to collaborate with the city itself. Downtown Dialogues, a new series of open forums launched by the Downtown Neighbors Alliance, will give residents an assured chance of being heard in the development of Downtown Pittsburgh.
The first panel of this series will be held at 7pm on June 11th at Point Park University’s David Lawrence Hall in room 200. All residents are welcomed and encouraged to share their voices and ideas– this event is a free open forum, and an exciting new opportunity to collaborate with the city of Pittsburgh and some of its members and leaders.
The main focus of our June 11th panel is retail development. A discussion led by our panelists will touch on challenges that Downtown Pittsburgh’s storefronts currently face, as well as plans for future developments that are on the horizon.

We have three chosen panelists that we’re thrilled to announce, the first being Kendra Whitlock Ingram. Recognized as Non-Profit Person of the Year at our Annual Awards Dinner this past Monday, Ingram currently serves as the President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has been working for around forty years to reinvent Downtown Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, and has since made it Pittsburgh’s largest art neighborhood. Among many projects, they’re main focus is currently Arts Landing, an outdoor space including a lawn, garden walk, play areas, and many other amenities free to the public, giving the Cultural District more room to thrive.

The second panelist we have lined up is Dan Adamski, the executive managing director of JLL. He focuses on Tenant Representation and Advisory Services, and has been awarded multiple times by Business Times and CoStar for his work in real estate in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Lastly, our third chosen panelist is Herky Pollock, the president and CEO of Legacy Realty. He found Legacy Realty to continue to create new spaces in downtown Pittsburgh, and has leased more retail properties downtown than you can count. His plans for expansion in the city are never-ending, making retail spaces in Pittsburgh ones the residents enjoy.
After these speakers’ panel, it’s your time to shine: a 20-25 minute question and answer session will follow, allowing community members in the audience to connect with our panelists and share insights. New ways to expand Pittsburgh’s retail space and community are always sought out, so this input from you matters deeply.
Your voice is our top priority, and is always what we look forward to in conversations. We have a spot open for you at 7pm on June 11th, and we can’t wait to see you there!
