The Heinz History Center has once again been named the No. 1 history museum in the country! This is the third consecutive year that the museum has been recognized for this title. The recognition celebrates the museum’s dedication to inspiring audiences and preserving regional history.

While Heinz is known for being an iconic brand of ketchup, the museum is so much more than that. As Pittsburgh’s people museum, the History Center’s goal is to showcase the inspiring stories of Western Pennsylvania’s people who have helped change the course of American history.

The museum is the largest history museum in Pennsylvania, with six floors of interactive exhibits and iconic artifacts from our region’s history, including the world’s oldest jeep and sets from “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” The second and third floors even feature their own museum, the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, within the History Center.

With this recognition, the history museum is actively working to make their space even more engaging and inspiring for all visitors. Heinz History Center currently has plans to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States with exhibitions, community programs, and educational initiatives specifically designed for the occasion.

Whether you’re a long time member or a new visitor, the nationally ranked Heinz History Center is a remarkable destination for all to engage and connect with the history of our region.
