Perfect Downtown Date Night

Written by Viktoria Sako

Whether you're planning a first date or a yearly anniversary, Downtown Pittsburgh has you covered on food, drinks, and activities for your next night on the town. Leave your habitual date night spot and try something new– like a night listening to live jazz musicians or riding a jetski through the three rivers at sunset!

Kick off your night by cruising through Pittsburgh’s rivers on a jetski from Steel City Jetski Rentals, where you and your partner can ride along the rivers for up to four hours! Not in the mood to get splashed by water? No worries! You can still glide along the river with the Gateway Clipper, a cruise that’ll take you through the rivers to sightsee and learn about some historic landmarks scattered throughout the Burgh’.

Craving some late night laughs with your partner? Head downtown to the Cultural District where you’ll find the comedy-hub of Pittsburgh, the Arcade Comedy Theatre. They offer a variety of comedy shows, ranging from monthly stand-up comedy performances to interactive improv shows where the audience can get involved in the fun!

If you’re feeling more competitive, check out Five Iron Golf in Market Square and put your golfing skills to the test with a variety of different simulator games that are sure to draw your competitive side out. Also serving as a bar, Five Iron Golf offers a Happy Hour Mondays through Fridays where you can grab a drink and a quick bite to eat as you golf your heart out.

End your night with dinner and drink and cozy up with your partner at Con Alma, a late night jazz bar that serves signature cocktails and cuisine inspired from around the world with soul. If you’re feeling more extravagant, reserve a table in advance at Gi-Jin, a luxe sushi bar that offers exquisite cuts of fresh fish and a variety of refreshments to keep the night alive.

Make your last stop at the Barcelona Wine Bar on Penn Ave, which offers wine sourced from all over the world, that you can try by testing out one of their wine flights. They offer charcuterie and tapas, along with larger plates just in case you skipped dinner, to enjoy with your wine and your date.
