Amazing Books & Records – 320 Smithfield St

Newly opened Downtown, this bookstore also another location in Squirrel Hill. Amazing Books is an independent bookstore and offers a free used book or record of your choice with every three that you buy. This is the perfect, cute bookstore to relax and read a new book in!

The Boredom Set – 435 Market St.

If you are looking for a unique atmosphere and good coffee, this is the place to go! You are guaranteed to have a productive study session or a catch-up session with your latest book.

Rock ‘n’ Joe Coffee – 524 Penn Ave

With a history rooted in the love of coffee and rock ’n’ roll, this cafe is a mesh of cozy laid back vibes and lively grunge music. If you are looking to study in a group or talk about what book you are reading, then this is the place to be. If you happen to visit, try their Kiwi Mint Refresher or their Iced Strawberry Shortcake Latte.  

Carnegie Library, Downtown – 612 Smithfield Street

The Carnegie Library is a place for knowledge, technology, connection, and enjoyment. With a huge selection of books and a quiet, academic atmosphere, this library is a perfect place to study or read. Plus, if you are researching and need more information, you don’t even have to leave the building. Library cards are free and can be applied for online, though you need a valid form of ID.
