Taco Guapo is a restaurant that the DNA brought to Downtown Pittsburgh. This eatery just opened on December 4th, 2025. Owned by Griselda Martinez, this Mexican street-style restaurant has everything you need to eat for takeout.

She recommends trying their different Burritos and Tacos, and Naked options (Bowls). For the protein involved, steak, lamb, grilled or shredded chicken, pork, shredded or ground beef, sausage, beef tongue, and lauda are all choices.

In particular, the Steak (Carne Asada), Ground Beef (Picadillo), and Shredded Beef (Barbacoa) Tacos are respectable and delicious meals. From $4-5, hard tacos are more than a crunchy craving; they are a delightful necessity to save your day.

Don’t miss out on the Burritos and Bowls, ranging from $12-13, which are a quick and affordable alternative. The toppings look rich and savory, spanning from chopped lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. There is no stopping your taste buds from experiencing all these flavors.

There’s no forgetting the Churros for $4 and sides filled with rice, beans, cream, guacamole, or pico. If you want to add on to your order, Chips with Salsa and Guacamole are also available.

If you need a refresher, there are Mexican Coca-Colas, water, and vibrant Jarritos.

Originally, Griselda Martinez had a Mexican restaurant called Beto’s Tacos, but it closed down after the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2023. Now, she’s back to serve Downtown delicious food after falling in love with the area.

Plans for the summer are in the works, as the owner wants to sell specialties like ice cream and sweet fruit. She also wants to make a deal for students to make her food more accessible.

A lot of time and care go into each dish, and a generous amount of food. So, support a local Downtown business next time you’re out to eat!
