THIS WEEKEND: Candlelight Crescendo blends Classic Rock and Classical Music.
Written by Arlo Grey MacFarland
This Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 8 p.m., the Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) is hosting its second Candlelight Crescendo event at the Pittsburgh Playhouse Highmark Theater. Located at 350 Forbes Avenue, this concert features the string ensemble Cello Fury.
This Candlelight Crescendo concert is guaranteed to bring you a unique experience, with rock music being the main focus and inspiration. An unforgettable night is imminent, and something completely different from our past Candlelight Crescendos. Cello Fury promises a night of reimagined rock music, and we’re so excited to share that with you all.

Cello Fury blends the elegance of cello with modern rock-inspired melodies, creating something sounding akin to a fantasy film. Their music drops you right in the middle of an enchanted forest, with exciting twists and turns throughout each tune. Some of their hits include: "Odyssey," “Against All Odds,” and “Anarchy and Pain of the Fallen.” Their music is available to stream on major platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music. For this concert, the group will play a mix of their own music as well as classic rock icons like The Beatles, ranging from the 1960s to the 1990s.
The DNA is also collaborating with Sushi I (contemporary Japanese), Revel (upscale new American cuisine), Yuzu Kitchen (Japanese fusion), and Valozzi’s (family Italian kitchen) to bring you a night on the town. If you go to any of the above restaurants with your Candlelight Crescendo ticket the night of the show, you are eligible for a 20% discount on your dish!
Lit by a thousand candles, Cello Fury will bring you on a journey through their world. Tickets are available for purchase here for $45 per person, with student, senior, and group discounts available for $25 each. Get them now so you have a reserved seat for the magical show!
