Novo Asian Food Hall: Tan Lac Vien

From Korean tteokbokki sweet milk tea boba, Novo Food Hall’s variety is unmatched in Pittsburgh's strip district. At one of their food stalls, Tac Lac Vien, a perfect option for the cold weather is their variety of Pho. Options include chicken, beef, ribeye, meatball, and vegan.

Pho Van

This quaint Vietnamese restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious traditional Viet food, but as the name suggests, there is a wide variety of Pho, twelve types to be specific. Including chicken, vegan, brisket, eye round, meatball, tendon, tripe, shrimp, supreme pho, ribs pho, ribs with eye round pho, and king crab pho. They also offer numerous other soups beyond just Pho. The chef specials include wonton noodle soup, spicy beef soup, pork and shrimp soup, seafood soup, fish meatball soup, and roast duck soup. But if you are feeling another dish but still want to warm up, don’t worry because Pho Van offers a side of beef, chicken, or veggie broth.

Little Bangkok in the Strip

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh! Their chef cooks amazing, comforting Thai food all year round, but winter is the perfect time to try their Tom Yum or Tom Kar soups. For each soup, you have the choice of vegetables, tofu, chicken, shrimp, seafood, or fish for protein, and can choose between just a bowl or a hot pot.

Bella Notte

If you are craving classic Italian food, this restaurant is guaranteed to satisfy you and have you coming back for more! For a traditional Italian meal of meat and veggies, try their Italian Wedding Soup.

Kaya

If you are in the mood for a taste of the Caribbean, then the delicious and refreshing food and drinks from Kaya’s are the perfect choice. Though the Caribbean may remind you of the summer, their Chipotle Tomato Bisque and Conch & Corn Chowder are sure to warm you up even in the Pittsburgh cold.

Smallman St. Deli

Looking for a classic homey quick meal? Smallman St. Deli’s is the perfect place to go. Their soups are the perfect choice when faced with the Pittsburgh chill. In either a cup, bowl, or quart, you can get the matzo ball soup, chicken noodle soup, chili, or their daily special!
