Artistic Excellence in the Heart of Our City: The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra

Heinz Hall in Downtown Pittsburgh is home to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, two time Grammy Award winners. Downtown Pittsburgh is lucky to have artistic excellence right in the heart of our city, you cannot miss it. The orchestra will be performing every weekend in June and certain weekdays. Yo-Yo Ma Wednesday, June 4th. 

For only one night, Yo-Yo Ma and his Cello are taking Heinz stage, alongside Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Unfortunately, if you don’t already have tickets, it's too late! The renowned musician is already sold out.


Beethoven and Mahler, June 6th and 8th.

Alice Sara Ott returns to Pittsburgh to join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in a 2-day performance of Mahler’s fourth symphony. This will be the pianist’s second time playing with the PSO and is sure to be a beautiful performance. 


PSO360: Alice Sara Ott Saturday, June 7th

This performance is titled PSO360 for the rare opportunity to earn a 360 view by sitting alongside Alice Sara Ott on stage. The pianist will perform Beethoven sonatas and works from her most recent album, an exploration of the composer John Field. 


Rana plays Mendelssohn, June 13-15

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform Mendelssohn’s Piano concerto, alongside pianist Beatrice Rana, Lera Auerbach’s Frozen Dreams, and Shostakovich’s symphony number

Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony, June 18th

This incredible crossover between pop-country music, symphony, and storytelling brings an imaginative celebration of Dolly Parton’s life to Heinz stage. The performance follows the threads of her life, music, and stories by featuring Dolly on screen alongside the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and guest vocalists. 

Juneteenth Concert, June 19

To celebrate Juneteenth, parts of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra brass section will perform with jazz musicians and guest vocalists. The free concert is part of Pittsburgh’s 2025 WPA Juneteenth and Black Music Celebration at Mellon Park.

Kings of Soul, June 20-22

PSO joins vocalists Chester Gregory, Michael Lynche, and Darren Lorenzo to honor the kings of soul, including Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Otis Redding, The Temptations, Al Green, Barry White, and Curtis Mayfield.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings, June 27-29

While the first film of the Lord of the Rings trilogy is projected on screen, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform Howard Shore's award winning soundtrack live on-stage. This incredible movie will be brought to life in Heinz Hall, and you do not want to miss it.
