Revel in good food and good company at Revel PGH!

Written by Madeline Milchman

On April 10th, 1845, The Great Fire of Pittsburgh swept through Downtown Pittsburgh, destroying 982 buildings in its wake. The Bank of Pittsburgh was one of the few buildings that still stood, though its insides were destroyed. Many Pittsburghers were left homeless, but the city recovered quickly thanks to the grace and hospitality of its people.

Revel PGH, a refined American restaurant, currently sits atop the ruins of the Bank of Pittsburgh. Its history is a story of loss and sadness, but this restaurant represents Pittsburgh pride. It chooses to celebrate what we have–our community, family, and resilience–while honoring what we lost 180 years ago. The restaurant shares its history with customers through its signature “Fire of 1845” cocktail, made with jalapeño vodka, ginger beer, and habanero bitters.

With its warm atmosphere, Revel invites you in for an excellent culinary experience in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks while relishing in your company. Whether you’re in the mood for a hefty steak, comforting mac and cheese, or a hearty salad, there’s an option for everyone. Don’t forget to end your meal with a sweet treat, like a vanilla bean cheesecake or a cappuccino créme brûlée.

As part of its mission to celebrate Pittsburgh, Revel goes beyond just serving the community delicious food. Their project, On the Wall, showcases a local artist every month. They pair the art with a signature cocktail and donate a portion of the proceeds to raise money for MCG Youth. Caroline Heckman, Mia Tarducci, Claire Hardy, and Sarah Zeffiro were recently featured artists.
