This weekend, Saturday, October 25, 2025, The Downtown Neighbors Alliance’s Living Well Initiative will kick off its Walking Club!  As part of this initiative, the walking club encourages regular exercise and community-building activities in the downtown area.  Helping to create another third space downtown, the DNA’s walking club is a free, all-ages, and dog-friendly group.

Are you looking for experience in a professional media & outreach environment, focused on collaborating with local businesses?  The Pittsburgh Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) is looking for interns for Spring 2026. DNA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making downtown Pittsburgh a safer, healthier, and more vibrant place to live. With major projects such as the Liberty Ave. project and the Living Well Initiative, we’re embracing fresh new ideas to breathe life into the area.

A Registered Community Organization (RCO) is a non-profit that works to improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods it represents. In Downtown Pittsburgh, there are only two RCOs: Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) and Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP). It is DNA’s duty to promote the interests of downtown residents as the city continues to develop.

Pittsburgh residents and community leaders have expressed great discontent with the staggering number of vape shops throughout the city. Around thirty of them are clustered downtown, with several along Liberty Ave. As these shops often target youth and low income families, public health concerns are growing amidst preexisting disparities.

Downtown Neighbors Alliance is kicking off the Living Well Initiative, a program making wellness community-driven and accessible to downtown residents. 

At exactly 8 PM last Friday, the first candle quietly flickered to life inside a black box-style room at Pittsburgh Playhouse. From the outside, it looked like any ordinary space—square, minimal, painted black with no fixed stage or seating. But stepping inside, it felt like entering another world.

The Burgh Bus has coined a new word, “transportainment,” a combination of “transportation” and “entertainment.” The made-up word is an exact description of the one-of-a-kind tour you get on a Burgh Bus. 

Moving is never simple, but we want to make sure Downtown Pittsburgh is easy to call home. To do so, Pittsburgh DNA and Huntington Bank are providing welcome kits to new residents in order to make your transition to a yinzer one that’s smooth and rewarding. Interested? Pittsburgh is hosting a weekend of furry fun on Thursday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 6th for anthropomorphics, also known as furries, to come together for the annual Anthrocon Convention at the David L. The Downtown Neighbors Alliance hosted its first in its series, Downtown Dialogues, on June 11th. The event featured notable Downtown figures discussing retail recruitment and addressing the concerns that shape the trajectory of downtown’s success.

Downtown should be a place that fosters wellbeing among its residents. The Golden Triangle should ensure its residents feel golden, too. That’s why we’ve come up with the Living Well Initiative, promoting both individuals and businesses that reside downtown to bring more attention to wellness within the city.

A new chapter truly deserves a memorable beginning and Downtown Pittsburgh is ready to roll out the welcome mat.
