Since its founding in 1939, Pittsburgh Opera has remained a premier opera company, now home to one of the top five training centers for rising opera stars in the U.S. Each year, a handful of exceptional young performers are selected from a pool of over 800 applicants. Downtown has countless pizzerias to choose from if you’re looking for a quick bite. But one pizzeria is guaranteed to give you a delicious platter of food and so much more: the feeling of family, comfort and cleanliness in an old school Italian pizzeria setting. That pizzeria is located on Smithfield street, and it’s Villa Reale.

Calling all art and Pittsburgh history lovers! Head over to the Benedum-Trees Gallery on Wednesday, September 10th at 7:00 PM for a panel on Elizabeth Rockwell Raphael’s Outline Galleries and how they influenced modernism and modern art in downtown and surrounding Pittsburgh. 

Starting at 7 p.m. on October 9, 2025, the Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) presents Acoustic Tuesdays, a weekly concert series dedicated to promoting small artists around the Pittsburgh area.  Hosted at Liberty Magic, located at 811 Liberty Ave., the concert series will give a platform for two acoustic artists weekly, each playing a one-hour set.

Craving some hand-made pasta and deliciously creamy sauces? Hankering for a deli sandwich decked out with slices of the best meat and cheese in town? Or maybe some classic pie slices that’ll leave you wanting more? Look no further! The Strip District has you covered on filling that Italian craving, whether it’s grabbing a small pizza to-go or going all out at a local restaurant that’ll have you stuffed for days.

Dog owners and dog lovers, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is hosting an event dedicated to our four-legged friends in Mellon Square. On September 17th at 11:00am, stop by to see some cute faces.

Pittsburgh’s wine fest is back this fall! On September 27 from 12pm to 10pm at 24 Market Square, Sawa Wine Bar and Pittsburgh Popup bring you together for wine, beer, cider, and more!

Pizza is a delicacy: everyone has their favorite toppings, a specific way to eat it, and how they like their crust, among other preferences. No matter how you like your pie, Villa Reale on Smithfield Street knows how to do it right. Their slices will leave you wanting more with each bite– and that’s not even all they offer.

Have a taste for something outside of the United States? Luckily, the Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) is bringing StrEAT Fest back to downtown, and it’s less than a month away! We have amazing vendors whose delicious food isn’t just out of this country– it’s out of this world.

The Strip District is a known cultural hub in the Pittsburgh region. Since its beginning, one street consisted of diverse grocers and restaurants harmoniously sharing sidewalks.

Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s weekly farmer’s market is approaching its end. After running successfully all summer, its last day is September 25th.

The wait has felt like an eternity, but football season is FINALLY back! If you’re looking for amazing eats to elevate your game day, we’ve got you covered. Watching football in downtown Pittsburgh just got delicious.

To celebrate the recovery of addicts, Pittsburghers are walking through Downtown and the Strip District. Starting at 1201 Waterfront Dr., the walk will continue down Penn Avenue to 7th Street, turn right on Fort Duquesne Blvd. to 9th Street, and back on Penn Avenue to 11th and Waterfront. 

If there’s one thing that makes waking up on an autumn morning any better, it’s coffee. The season of delicious drinks and food is upon us, and what better way to bring on the new season than with a delicious seasonal latte from Coffee Village?
