If you need a solid lunch spot that hits the “fresh but satisfying” sweet spot, City Works absolutely delivered for us this week. I went in thinking I’d grab something light… and left feeling like I’d just unlocked the cheat code to a perfect downtown meal.

For three weekends only, located in the Encore Building at 100 7^th St., The Merry Marketplace will return with international vendors, including the highly anticipated pop-up, the Black Market!

The Industrialist Hotel, located at 405 Wood St. downtown, has converted its lounge, The Rebel Room, into a vintage holiday wonderland pop-up bar!  Located on the second floor of the hotel, The Atomic Tinsel Cocktail Club had its opening night on Friday, November 21, 2025.

For the last six weeks, the Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) has hosted a concert series called Acoustic Tuesdays, a free show open to the public featuring local and underground talent.  Having hosted a variety of acts including Ellen Perkins, Megan Paullet, Brynn Rees, Noah Goisse, Calico Dogs, and Abby Morgan, Acoustic Tuesdays has consistently brought in a significant crowd to the venue. Performed at Liberty Magic at 811 Liberty Ave. downtown, this intimate space really allows for authentic connection between the artist, the art, and the audience– and we’re so excited to have a sponsorship that allows us to bring these free shows back in 2026.

After eight years of calling Liberty Ave. home, a beloved downtown Korean bistro is saying goodbye. After opening in 2017 under Edward Lai and Ashley Bae, the restaurant is permanently closed as of November of 2025. 

A consumer alert was issued by the Allegheny County Health Department last Wednesday for a downtown restaurant. The restaurant has ten days from their last citation before their next inspection, and may be at the risk of closure. 

The grandma of all crafts fairs celebrates its 21st anniversary with 300 artists, craftspeople and makers at the region’s largest holiday shopping market. Taking place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center at 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd., expect to spend many hours making your way through the extensive selection of vendors selling everything from clothing, artwork, home decor and jewelry, to body products, toys, accessories, cards and much more. From Friday, December 5^th to Saturday, December 6^th, 2025, the convention center will be filled with dozens of artists from around the region and beyond. 

On December 2, DNA will host its last Acoustic Tuesdays event of 2025 at Liberty Magic. We could not be more pleased with the turnouts we’ve seen each week, and feedback from downtown residents has been overwhelmingly positive. Join us this week to see two Pittsburgh-based artists: Anne Eliza and Bobby Taylor.

Pittsburgh’s CLO is thrilled to have Tony award-winner Denis O'Hare fulfill the iconic role of Ebenezer Scrooge in its 34th annual production of A Musical Christmas Carol. The highly awaited performance will take place at the Byham Theater from December 13 to 23.

Pittsburgh CLO is excited to present Yippee Ki Yay, the parody celebration of the classic film Die Hard from the mind of Richard Marsh. The epic comic poem will be staged at the Greer Cabaret Theater from December 2 to 21. 

In a time when housing insecurity is becoming more and more dire, especially for marginalized communities, it is vital that we collectively step up and support.  The organization SistersPGH is actively working towards dismantling “systemic oppression of BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color) transgender and nonbinary communities” in Allegheny county.

Just a couple of months away, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Pittsburgh Pirates will once again host their annual PiratesFest. Held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center at 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd., PiratesFest is a free event for fans and families to connect to the players and their management.

Fifth Avenue Place, which sits on the corner of Stanwix Street and Penn Avenue, is welcoming downtown’s newest restaurant: ELIA Mediterranean Grille. At their current location in Warrendale, ELIA brings some of the best Mediterranean flavors to Pittsburgh, and having them downtown is going to be so special for the community.

Sometimes you need a meal that reminds you why dining out is an art form — and The Capital Grille absolutely delivered. From the first spoonful to the final bite, lunch felt like a masterclass in classic flavor and elegance.

On Tuesday, November 18th, the Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA)  hosted our last Open Mic Night of our Acoustic Tuesdays series of this year– and it did NOT disappoint. With three outstanding performances, and a full house in Liberty Magic, we could not have asked for a better way to spend our Tuesday night.

The Byham Theater has been a staple in Downtown Pittsburgh since 1903, when it was called the Gayety Theater. Its 1,300 seats have seen countless performances, from musical theater and dance to contemporary films. The year 2025 may be coming to an end, but at the Byham, there are still memories to be made.
